Ice Cube and Son Teaming Up on L.A. Riots Thriller
After working collectively as producer & actor on the N.W.A biopic “Straight Outta Compton,” Ice Cube & his son O’Shea Jackson Jr. are now looking to team up again as 2 are in talks to co-star in L.A. Riots thriller “April 29, 1992.”
Will Packer would produce with the Donovan Marsh directing. Sascha Penn wrote the script.
The pic would follow an ex-criminal who must save his son when a group of robbers attack his place of work in the hopes to steal an invaluable amount of platinum. The title refers to the L.A. riots in 1992.
Shooting is expected to begin in February.
With “Straight Outta Compton” nearing $100 million at the box office and receiving critical praise, it is no surprise that studio execs were looking for the way to team up with Cube and Jackson.
Cube can be seen next in the sequel to “Ride Along” with Kevin Hart.
