“Harry Potter” play to open in the west end
A new play called the Harry Potter & The Cursed Child would open at London’s Palace Theatre in summer next year with the tickets going on sale this autumn. The stage show would debut at Palace Theatre in heart of London in summer 2016.
The show would follow the lives of boy wizard’s destined parents, Lily & James Potter, and their death at hands of Lord Voldermort, which results in the baby Harry being sent to live with Lily’s cruel sister Petunia Dursley, her husband Vernon & their bullying son Dudley.
The play has been written by the Potter author J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne & John Tiffany, who would also be directing the show.
As the cast is yet to be announced, producers ‘Sonia Friedman’ & ‘Colin Callender’ are said to be on the lookout for the leads and relaxed auditions are currently being held.
Rowling took to Twitter to announce news but declined to make known too much about the play for fear of spoiling the story. she tweeted that she is very excited to confirm today that a new play called ‘Harry Potter’ & the Cursed Child would be opening in London next year.
